British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to publicize next month's bout.
Ex twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making substantial earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers met for the customary face-off, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
